Local residents, tourists from other prefectures, and international guests are all invited to join in celebrating this 1st anniversary event! The Kurashiki-Kojima area, which has developed through the textile industry, is known as the denim capital, famous for its collaborations with global denim manufacturers. In addition to denim, workwear and uniforms are also well-known here. Kojima, with its ability to provide a fully integrated manufacturing process, is home to various textile-related companies. For this special occasion, we are offering an indigo dyeing experience in collaboration with "Urakami Dyeing," a historic dyeing company in Kojima founded in 1929. Known as "the color wizard" for its ability to recreate any color, Urakami Dyeing is ready to guide you through this creative experience. The process is simple, making it accessible and enjoyable for both adults and children, even for those who have never tried indigo dyeing before. [Materials to Dye with Indigo] Please choose from the following materials for your dyeing experience: ◆ Marugo's Tabi Shoes (Matsuri Jog [Kohaze: 6 Pieces]) Marugo Co., Ltd., a tabi manufacturer with over 100 years of history in Kurashiki, was founded in 1919. It began the full-scale production of tabi (traditional Japanese socks) by combining regional traditional tabi with new rubber materials. Today, Marugo continues to provide safe and reliable products and services, supporting people's lives from the ground up. Through global partnerships and collaboration with the local community, Marugo continues to create new value. ◆ Kurashiki Hampu's Tote Bag Kurashiki Hampu, founded in 1888 in Kojima, Kurashiki, facing the Seto Inland Sea, has supported the textile industry for over a century. Known for its durable and textured fabric, it has evolved into various fields, including daily essentials, fashion, interior design, and architecture. Kurashiki Canvas aims to enhance people's lives by providing high-quality fabric that brings comfort and peace. [Important Notes] The experience will be held regardless of rain. Aprons, arm covers, gloves, and shoe covers are available for rental, but please note that there is a possibility of dye staining your clothes. We recommend wearing clothes that you don’t mind getting stained or taking care to avoid splashes during the experience. The dyed items will not be fully dry at the time of the experience, so they will be handed to you in a bag. You can dry them at home. As an additional option, we can ship your dried items to a specified address. Please aim to arrive 5 minutes before the meeting time.
